Voters First Pledge Coalition

For too long, many politicians have put the demands of wealthy campaign donors ahead of needs of voters. With a scandal-ridden Congress, we think the time is ripe to put candidates on record: Are they with voters? Or are they siding with wealthy interests? We're asking every candidate for Congress to sign the Voters First Pledge to make elections fair, to restore accountability, and to protect voters right-to-know.

The Voters First Pledge Coalition members are:

Common Cause is a nonpartisan, nonprofit advocacy organization founded in 1970 by John Gardner as a vehicle for citizens to make their voices heard in the political process and to hold their elected leaders accountable. With nearly 400,000 members and supporters and 36 state organizations, Common Cause and its national network of active citizens fight to ensure that powerful institutions in society—including government, corporations, and the news media—serve the public interest, not special interests.

Public Campaign Action Fund is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to improving America’s  campaign finance laws. We help enact, defend, and promote Clean Elections-style public financing in states around the country like Arizona and Maine,
and advocate for similar legislation for all federal elections.

Public Citizen is a national nonprofit public interest advocacy organization that represents consumer interests in Congress, the executive branch and the courts. We fight for openness and democratic accountability in government; for the right of consumers to seek redress in the courts; for clean, safe and sustainable energy sources; for social and economic justice in trade policies; for strong health, safety and environmental protections; and for safe, effective and affordable prescription drugs and health care.
